Watch a step-by-step walkthrough of assembling your RTA wall cabinet. Most wall cabinets assemble in 15–30 minutes with standard tools.
Note: This is our standard wall cabinet assembly video. The only difference for the WR3618 is that it's a wide, two-door cabinet and it's 24" deep (to sit over the refrigerator) instead of the standard 12" — it's assembled the same way.
Written Assembly Steps
Prefer to read along? Here’s the short version for your refrigerator wall cabinet. The panels slide together on dovetail grooves and lock square with metal corner braces, and the back panel rail is screwed in from behind. Most go together in about 15–30 minutes with a screwdriver or drill and a rubber mallet. This cabinet has an open interior with no shelves.
- Lay the front face on a soft surface with the dovetail grooves facing up — these grooves receive the side panels and the top and bottom panels.
- Slide the side panels into the dovetail grooves on the front face, making sure the dovetails line up and fully engage. Repeat for the top and bottom panels.
- Slide the back panel into the dovetail grooves on the side panels until flush.
- Fit a metal corner brace into each of the 4 top corners and screw the braces to the panels to lock everything square.
- From the back of the cabinet, screw the back panel rail to the top and bottom panels.
Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It’s completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there’s no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.

- Box: ½" solid plywood — no particle board. Holds screws well for secure wall mounting of a deep cabinet.
- Depth: 24" — matches the refrigerator below, twice the depth of a standard 12" wall cabinet.
- Doors: Two full-overlay shaker doors (HDF with solid wood shaker profile).
- Shelves: No shelves (open interior).
- Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinges, 6-way adjustable.
- Best paired with: REP9624 refrigerator end panels on each side, or a tall cabinet, to frame the fridge into a built-in niche.
- Interior: Color-matched box. Door bumpers included. No glass door option.
RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. Assembly takes 15–30 minutes with standard tools. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days — though most are ready within 3–8 business days.
Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to hang. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.

An over-fridge cabinet looks best framed on both sides so the refrigerator sits in a built-in niche. Most orders for this cabinet include:
- REP9624 Refrigerator End Panel — the 96" × 24"-deep panel that flanks the refrigerator. Install this cabinet between a pair of REP9624 panels (or beside a tall pantry cabinet, or a combination of the two) to box in the fridge and give the run a finished, built-in look. Trimmable on installation.
- LCM8 Crown Molding — caps the top of the cabinet and the flanking panels for a finished, custom look. Sold in 8′ lengths.
- LRM8 Light Rail Molding — trims the bottom edge of the run. Sold in 8′ lengths.
- WF342 (3") or WF642 (6") Wall Fillers — close gaps between the cabinet, panels, and walls. Both can be trimmed on installation.
- TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.
