The WCA1242 is a 42"-high angled end wall cabinet that finishes the end of a run of upper cabinets with a softened 45° angle instead of a hard square corner. It takes up a 12" × 12" footprint, with a single full-overlay shaker door on the angled face, three adjustable shelves and a reversible left / right setup. Solid plywood box, soft-close hinges. No particle board. Available ready-to-assemble (RTA) or factory pre-built.

At $172.42 RTA vs. the $302.23 MSRP — about 43% off — it's trade-quality construction at a price that keeps your remodel on budget.

📐 Angled End — Reversible (L or R). Mounted at the end of a run, the WCA1242 sits against the wall and the side of the last wall cabinet, and its angled door faces out into the room. It gives open ends, peninsulas and walkways a finished look, with no sharp square corner to bump into. Inside are three adjustable shelves; door bumpers included. There are no corresponding glass doors for this cabinet.

Here's the short version of the Faircrest instructions. The panels slide together on dovetail grooves, lock square with metal corner braces, and screw to the front face from behind. Most people finish in about 15–30 minutes with a screwdriver or drill and a rubber mallet. The full illustrated diagram is included in the product images above.

  1. Lay the front face on a soft surface with the dovetail grooves facing up — these grooves receive the top, bottom and side panels.
  2. Slide the two side panels into the dovetail grooves on the triangular top and bottom panels until flush, then screw the metal corner braces onto the side panels and top/bottom panels to hold them square.
  3. Lower that joined assembly into the dovetail grooves on the front face until flush.
  4. From the back of the cabinet, screw the side panels to the front face.
  5. Push the shelf clips into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels at your preferred height and slide in the three shelves, finished front edge facing out.

Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It’s completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there’s no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.

RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days before they are ready to ship or collect — though most are ready within 3–8 business days, if not sooner.

Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to hang. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.

Can the WCA1242 be used on the left or right?
Yes. The WCA1242 is reversible and can finish either the left (L) or right (R) end of a run of wall cabinets. Door bumpers are included.

How many shelves does the WCA1242 have?
The WCA1242 has three adjustable shelves. In this angled end line, 30-inch and 36-inch high cabinets have two shelves; the 42-inch high cabinet has three.

How do I assemble the WCA1242?
Lay the front face down with the grooves up, join the side panels to the top and bottom panels and lock them with metal corner braces, slide that assembly into the grooves on the front face, screw the side panels to the front face from the back, then fit the shelf clips and shelves. Full written steps and the assembly diagram are on this page.

Is there a glass door option for the WCA1242?
No — there are no corresponding glass doors for this cabinet.

Is the WCA1242 solid wood or particle board?
The WCA1242 box is half-inch solid plywood and the face frame is solid maple/birch — no particle board. The door is HDF with a solid wood shaker profile, the industry standard for painted shaker doors.

What is the return policy?

Wall cabinets are usually finished with molding at the top and bottom. Most orders for this cabinet include:

  • LCM8 Crown Molding — caps the top of the wall cabinets against the ceiling or as a decorative top edge. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • LVC Large Cove Crown Molding — a larger cove-profile crown for a more substantial top treatment, especially on 42" cabinets that run to the ceiling. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • LRM8 Light Rail Molding — mounts under the wall cabinets to finish the bottom edge and conceal under-cabinet lighting. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • WF342 (3") or WF642 (6") Wall Fillers — close gaps between wall cabinets, or between a cabinet and the wall. Both can be trimmed on installation.
  • TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.

Crown and light rail molding follow the angle at the end of the run, so allow a little extra length for the two 22.5° miter cuts. Not sure how much you need? Contact us and we'll help you work it out.
