Watch a step-by-step walkthrough of assembling your RTA wall cabinet. Most wall cabinets assemble in 15–30 minutes with standard tools.
Note: This is our standard wall cabinet assembly video. The only difference for the W243624 is that it's 24" deep (double depth) instead of the standard 12" — it's assembled the same way.
Written Assembly Steps
Prefer to read along? Here’s the short version. The panels slide together on dovetail grooves and lock square with metal corner braces. Most wall cabinets go together in about 15–30 minutes with a screwdriver or drill and a rubber mallet.
Note for this 24"-deep cabinet: the W243624 is built exactly the same way as our standard 12"-deep double door wall cabinets. The side, top, bottom panels and shelves are simply deeper, so the illustrations may look shallower than the parts in your box.
- Lay the front face on a soft surface with the grooves facing up — these grooves receive the side panels and the top and bottom panels.
- Slide the side panels into the grooves on the front face until the clips line up and fully engage. Repeat for the top and bottom panels.
- Slide the back panel into the grooves on the side panels until flush.
- Fit a metal corner brace into each of the 4 top corners and screw the braces to the panels to lock everything square.
- Push the shelf clips into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels at your preferred height and slide in the two shelves, finished front edge facing out.
Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It’s completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there’s no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.

All measurements are nominal. Allow ±⅛" tolerance. A 24"-deep cabinet projects further from the wall than a standard wall cabinet — confirm clearances (especially over a refrigerator) before ordering.
- Box: ½" solid plywood — no particle board. Holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate. Important for the secure wall-mounting of a deep, loaded cabinet.
- Depth: 24" — a double-depth wall cabinet, twice the depth of a standard 12" wall cabinet.
- Doors: Two full-overlay shaker doors (HDF construction with solid wood shaker profile).
- Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinges, 6-way adjustable.
- Shelves: Two full-depth adjustable shelves — full-depth, repositionable.
- Optional glass doors: PG2436 plain glass or MD2436 mullion glass, ordered separately.
- Interior: Color-matched box and shelves. Door bumpers included.
RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk — especially worthwhile on a bulky double-depth cabinet. Assembly takes 15–30 minutes with standard tools. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days — though most are ready within 3–8 business days.
Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to hang. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.

Wall cabinets are usually finished with molding at the top and bottom, plus fillers to close gaps. Most orders for this cabinet include:
- LCM8 Crown Molding — caps the top of the wall cabinets against the ceiling or as a decorative top edge. Sold in 8′ lengths.
- LVC Large Cove Crown Molding — a larger cove-profile crown for a more substantial top treatment, especially on 42" cabinets that run to the ceiling. Sold in 8′ lengths.
- LRM8 Light Rail Molding — mounts under the wall cabinets to finish the bottom edge and conceal under-cabinet lighting. Sold in 8′ lengths.
- WF342 (3") or WF642 (6") Wall Fillers — close gaps between wall cabinets, or between a cabinet and the wall. Both can be trimmed on installation.
- TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet’s lifetime.
- PG2436 Plain Glass Double Doors — swap the solid shaker doors for plain-glass doors for a display look on this cabinet.
- MD2436 Mullion Glass Double Doors — swap the solid shaker doors for mullion (divided-light) glass doors for a decorative display look on this cabinet.
