The W2436 is a 24"-wide × 36"-high double-door wall cabinet built to the standard contractors and designers actually rely on — solid plywood box, soft-close everything. No particle board. No shortcuts. Available ready-to-assemble (RTA) or factory pre-built.

Standard 12" wall-cabinet depth, two full-depth adjustable shelves, and two full-overlay butt doors. At $200.63 RTA vs. the $351.67 MSRP — about 43% off — it's trade-quality construction at a price that keeps your remodel on budget.

💡 Double Door — Butt Doors. The W2436 has two full-overlay shaker doors that meet in the middle (butt-door setup, no center stile). Inside are two full-depth adjustable shelves (36" high wall cabinets in this line carry two shelves). Door bumpers included.
✨ Optional Glass Doors. This size is available with a decorative pair of glass doors in place of the solid shaker doors — ordered separately:

Watch a step-by-step walkthrough of assembling your RTA double-door wall cabinet. Most wall cabinets assemble in 15–30 minutes with standard tools.

Written Assembly Steps

Prefer to read along? Here’s the short version. The panels slide together on dovetail grooves and lock square with metal corner braces. Most wall cabinets go together in about 15–30 minutes with a screwdriver or drill and a rubber mallet.

  1. Lay the front face on a soft surface with the grooves facing up — these grooves receive the side panels and the top and bottom panels.
  2. Slide the side panels into the grooves on the front face until the clips line up and fully engage. Repeat for the top and bottom panels.
  3. Slide the back panel into the grooves on the side panels until flush.
  4. Fit a metal corner brace into each of the 4 top corners and screw the braces to the panels to lock everything square.
  5. Push the shelf clips into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels at your preferred height and slide in the two shelves, finished front edge facing out.

Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It’s completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there’s no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.

All measurements are nominal. Allow ±⅛" tolerance. Consult your designer or installer for exact clearances when planning around soffits, crown molding, and adjacent cabinets.

  • Box: ½" solid plywood — no particle board. Holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to moisture. Important for the secure wall-mounting of a loaded cabinet.
  • Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF. Stays rigid, accepts paint and stain well.
  • Doors: Two full-overlay shaker doors (HDF construction with solid wood shaker profile) in a butt-door setup — they meet in the middle with no center stile.
  • Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinges, 6-way adjustable. Fine-tune door alignment after installation.
  • Shelves: 2 full-depth ¾" adjustable shelves — repositionable for different item heights.
  • Interior: Color-matched box and shelves.
  • Door bumpers: Included.

RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. Assembly takes 15–30 minutes with standard tools. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days before they are ready to ship or collect — though most are ready within 3–8 business days, if not sooner.

Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to hang. Ideal if you want to skip assembly or need a turnkey solution for a client. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.

How many shelves does the W2436 have?
Two full-depth adjustable shelves. In this line, 30" and 36" high wall cabinets have two adjustable shelves; 42" high wall cabinets have three.

Is a glass door available?
Yes — an optional PG2436 plain glass or MD2436 mullion glass pair of doors is available for this size, ordered separately.

Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood and the face frame is solid wood — no particle board. The doors are HDF with a solid wood shaker profile, standard across the industry for painted shaker doors.

How long does assembly take?
15–30 minutes with a drill and rubber mallet. Watch the assembly video above for a full walkthrough.

Wall cabinets are usually finished with molding at the top and bottom, plus fillers to close gaps. Most orders for this cabinet include:

  • LCM8 Crown Molding — caps the top of the wall cabinets against the ceiling or as a decorative top edge. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • LVC Large Cove Crown Molding — a larger cove-profile crown for a more substantial top treatment, especially on 42" cabinets that run to the ceiling. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • LRM8 Light Rail Molding — mounts under the wall cabinets to finish the bottom edge and conceal under-cabinet lighting. Sold in 8′ lengths.
  • WF342 (3") or WF642 (6") Wall Fillers — close gaps between wall cabinets, or between a cabinet and the wall. Both can be trimmed on installation.
  • TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet’s lifetime.
