The video below is our standard base cabinet assembly video. The V6021DD goes together on the same principles, so use it as your guide, then follow the written steps underneath for the parts that are different on this vanity.

Written Assembly Steps

What's different from the video: the V6021DD box uses two bottom panels, the face frame has a pair of doors in the center with a drawer bank on each side, and there are six drawers to build (three per side). There are no shelves. The full Faircrest diagram is in the product images above.

Build the cabinet box

  1. Lay the front face on a soft surface with the grooves facing up — these grooves receive the bottom panels.
  2. Slide the side panels into the grooves on the front face until the clips line up and fully engage.
  3. Slide the two bottom panels into the grooves on the side panels.
  4. Slide the back panel into the grooves on the bottom and side panels until flush, with the clips fully engaged.
  5. Stand the cabinet upright, fit a metal corner brace into each of the 4 top corners and screw the braces to the panels to lock everything square.
  6. Clip the front and back toe-kick plates to the side panels until the clips fully engage.

Build & fit the six drawers (repeat for each)

  1. Lay a drawer front grooves-up and slide the drawer side panels into its dovetail grooves until flush (tap with a mallet if needed).
  2. Slide the drawer bottom in with the finished side up, then attach the drawer back panel — dovetails fully engaged.
  3. Screw the drawer-member slides to the drawer sides through the pre-drilled holes.
  4. Fit the cabinet-member slides: push the barbed dowels into the back panel’s pre-drilled holes, screw the sockets to the back panel, then screw the front of each slide to the cabinet through the pre-drilled holes.
  5. Slide each drawer onto its guides through the front of the cabinet — in each side bank, the standard drawer goes at the top and the two deep drawers below.

Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It’s completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there’s no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.

  • Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF.
  • Doors: Two full-overlay shaker butt doors (HDF construction with a solid wood shaker profile) over the center sink section.
  • Drawers: Six working drawers — a bank of three on each side, one standard drawer over two deep drawers.
  • Drawer Box: ¾" solid wood with dovetail joinery on undermount soft-close glides.
  • Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinges, 6-way adjustable.
  • Interior: Color-matched box, natural drawer interiors. No shelves. Door and drawer bumpers included.

RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. Allow 45–75 minutes with standard tools. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days — though most are ready within 3–8 business days.

Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to install. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.

How many drawers and doors does the V6021DD have?
Two butt doors in the center and six working drawers — three on each side, with two standard drawers on top and four deep drawers below. The drawer boxes are three-quarter-inch solid wood with dovetail joinery on undermount soft-close glides.

Does the V6021DD have shelves?
No. The center door section is left open for the sink and plumbing, so there are no shelves in this cabinet.

How deep is the V6021DD?
The V6021DD is 21 inches deep — the standard depth for a bathroom vanity, shallower than a 24-inch kitchen base cabinet.

How do I assemble the V6021DD?
Follow the standard base cabinet video on the product page for the general method, and the written V6021DD steps for the differences: the box uses two bottom panels, and the six drawers each build up from dovetailed panels and drop onto soft-close slides. Allow 60–90 minutes with a drill, a rubber mallet and clamps.

Is the V6021DD solid wood or particle board?
The V6021DD box is half-inch solid plywood and the face frame is solid maple/birch — no particle board. The drawer boxes are three-quarter-inch solid wood with dovetail joinery; the doors are HDF with a solid wood shaker profile.

What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unassembled cabinets in original packaging. Unwanted returns are subject to return shipping and a 25% restocking fee. Damaged or defective items are handled on a priority basis.

Vanity cabinets are usually completed with a few finishing pieces. Most orders for this cabinet include:

  • TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Installed over the structural toe kicks to cover seams and make the toe kick area one continuous surface across the vanity run.
  • BF3 (3") or BF6 (6") Base Fillers — close gaps between cabinets, or between cabinets and walls. Both can be trimmed in height and/or width on installation.
  • TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.

Installing on an island or open run? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:

  • SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. It can be trimmed on installation, depending on the needs of the remodel.
  • OCS8 Outside Corner Molding — covers the raw corner where the back panel meets the cabinet box for a clean, finished end.

End of a run with an exposed side?

  • MVEPBH Matching Vanity End Panel — a decorative panel for exposed vanity sides at the end of a run. Dresses the exposed side to match the cabinet faces for an elevated, premium finish.
