Watch a step-by-step walkthrough of assembling your RTA base cabinet. Most cabinets assemble in 15–30 minutes with standard tools.
Note for the SB33: This sink base is assembled the same way as the standard base cabinet shown in the video, with one difference — there are no drawers in this cabinet. Instead, the false drawer front attaches to the face frame to cover the sink bowl.

- Box: ½" solid plywood on all four sides — no particle board. Plywood holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to moisture — important under a sink.
- Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF. Stays rigid, accepts paint and stain well.
- Doors: Two butt-style doors with soft-close European hinges, 6-way adjustable.
- False drawer front: A fixed drawer front that attaches to the face frame across the top of the cabinet. It covers the sink bowl and matches the look of a real drawer, keeping the run visually consistent.
- Configuration: Sink base — no drawers and no shelves. The interior is left open to receive the sink bowl and plumbing.
- Interior: Color-matched box.
- Door bumpers: Included.
RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value and ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. Assembly takes 15–30 minutes with standard tools. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days before they are ready to ship or collect — though most are ready within 3–8 business days, if not sooner.
Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built and ready to install. Ideal if you want to skip assembly or need a turnkey solution for a client. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. A factory-installed roll-out tray option is available above. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs, especially on larger orders.
How does the false drawer front on the SB33 work?
Because a sink base has no room for a real top drawer (the sink bowl sits right behind it), the SB33 includes a false drawer front that attaches to the face frame across the top. It matches the look of a real drawer front and conceals the sink bowl.
Does the SB33 come with a sink?
No — the SB33 is the cabinet only. It's designed to receive a customer-supplied kitchen sink dropped in from the countertop above.
Why are there no drawers or shelves?
A sink base is left open inside to make room for the sink bowl and its plumbing. That's why the SB33 has butt-style doors, a false drawer front, and no drawers or shelves.
Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood. The face frame is solid wood. We do not use particle board. The doors are engineered HDF (high-density fiberboard) with a solid wood shaker profile — standard across the industry for painted shaker doors.
How long does assembly take?
15–30 minutes with a drill and rubber mallet. Assembly matches a standard base cabinet, except there are no drawers — instead the false drawer front attaches to the face frame to cover the sink bowl. Watch the assembly video above for a full walkthrough.
Can I add a roll-out tray?
Yes — the optional ROT33 Universal Roll-Out Tray can be used with this cabinet to add pull-out access below the sink, where clearances allow.

Sink bases are usually completed with a few finishing pieces. Most orders for this cabinet include:
- TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Installed over the structural toe kicks to cover seams and make the toe kick area one continuous surface across the cabinet run.
- BF3 (3") or BF6 (6") Base Fillers — close gaps between cabinets, or between cabinets and walls. Both can be trimmed in height and/or width on installation.
- TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet’s lifetime.
- ROT33 Universal Roll-Out Tray — the optional roll-out tray sized for this cabinet. Adds smooth pull-out access in the space below the sink, where sink and plumbing clearances allow. Also available factory-installed — see the pricing options above.
Installing on an island or peninsula? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:
- SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. It can be trimmed on installation, depending on the needs of the remodel.
- OCS8 Outside Corner Molding — covers the raw corner where the back panel meets the cabinet box for a clean, finished island or peninsula end.
End of a run with an exposed side?
- DP2430 Decorative End Panel — a decorative "false door" panel for exposed cabinet sides at the end of a run. Dresses the exposed side to match the cabinet faces for an elevated, premium finish.
