The DCSB36 is a 36"-wide diagonal corner sink base cabinet in the Faircrest White Shaker line — designed to sit in the corner of a kitchen run with a sink in the countertop above. Its diagonal 45-degree face cuts into the corner, presenting a clean finished face frame to the room with one soft-close door and a false front drawer panel that keeps the look consistent with the rest of the run. The interior is left fully open — no shelves, no working drawers — to accommodate the sink bowl and plumbing. ½" solid plywood box, solid wood face frame, no particle board.
At $297.48 vs. the $521.43 MSRP — about 43% below retail — it's the corner sink solution that finishes a kitchen correctly, at a price that keeps your remodel, flip, or build on budget. Browse the full base collection →
🔵 What Is a Diagonal Corner Sink Base?
A diagonal corner sink base fits into a kitchen corner at a 45-degree angle — the angled face presents to the room rather than the two walls meeting in the corner. This makes it ideal for a corner sink installation, bringing the sink closer to the centre of the workspace and giving it a dedicated cabinet that fits the geometry of the corner.
- One functional soft-close door provides access to the open interior for plumbing and cleaning supplies.
- False front drawer panel — decorative only, standard on all sink bases. Covers the area above the doors where a drawer would normally go, maintaining a uniform face-frame appearance across the cabinet run.
- No shelves, no working drawers — the interior is fully open for the sink bowl and plumbing trap.
- Available RTA (field-configurable hinge direction) or factory assembled Left or Right.
💡 What Is a False Front Drawer?
A false front drawer is a decorative drawer face — it looks like a drawer but does not open or function as storage. It is standard on all sink base cabinets, including the DCSB36, because the sink bowl and plumbing occupy the space where a real drawer would otherwise go. It keeps the face frame consistent with the rest of your cabinet run so the kitchen looks uniform and finished.

Watch the step-by-step assembly walkthrough for this diagonal corner sink base cabinet. Note that the interior is left open — there are no shelves or drawer boxes to build, making this one of the simpler assemblies in the range. Most assemblers finish in 15–25 minutes with a drill, rubber mallet, and clamps.
Written Assembly Steps
No video is needed to follow along — here's the short version. The panels slide together on dovetail grooves and lock square with metal corner braces. Most people finish in about 20–30 minutes with a screwdriver or drill. This is a diagonal corner sink base, so the door and false drawer front sit on the angled corner face and the interior is left open for the sink.
- Lay the front face on a soft surface with the dovetail grooves facing up — these grooves receive the bottom panel and side panels.
- Slide the front side panels into the dovetail grooves on the front face, making sure the dovetails line up and fully engage.
- Slide the top/bottom panel into the grooves on the front face until the clips line up and engage.
- Slide the back side panels into the grooves on the side panels until flush.
- Slide the back panel into the dovetail grooves on the front side panels until flush.
- From the back of the cabinet, screw the back side panels to the back panel.
- Fit a metal corner brace into each of the 4 top corners and screw the braces to the panels to lock everything square.
- Clip the toe-kick plate onto the side panels using the provided clips.
Optional — wood glue for a sturdier finish: A small amount of wood glue in the dovetail joints gives a stronger, more permanent bond. It's completely optional — many of our regular clients have their own preferred way of building these, and there's no right or wrong method. Build it the way that works best for you.
The L or R designation refers to which side the doors are hinged toward:
| Variant | Doors Hinged | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| DCSB36-L | Left side | The cabinet run continues to the right of the sink |
| DCSB36-R | Right side | The cabinet run continues to the left of the sink |
RTA units are fully field-configurable to either hinge direction during assembly — no need to decide at order time. Factory assembled units are pre-built to your specified hinge direction and cannot be changed after assembly. If you are unsure which direction you need, send us a sketch of your kitchen layout and we will confirm before you order.

- Box: ½" solid plywood on all four sides — no particle board. Holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to the moisture environment typical of a sink cabinet.
- Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF. Diagonal face frame at 45 degrees to fit the corner; one door opening and one false front drawer strip across the top.
- Door: One full-overlay shaker door (HDF with solid wood shaker profile), soft-close concealed hinge, 6-way adjustable.
- False Front Drawer: Decorative panel across the top of the face frame — maintains a uniform cabinet run appearance. Does not open. Standard on all sink bases.
- Interior: Fully open — no shelves, no drawer boxes — for the sink bowl and plumbing trap. Color-matched interior.
- Door bumpers: Included.
RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value. Ships flat-packed, reducing freight cost and damage risk. The door hinge direction (L or R) is field-configurable during assembly — no need to decide at order time. With no drawers or shelves to build, this is one of the simpler RTA assemblies. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days — most are ready within 3–8 business days.
Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built to your specified hinge direction (Left or Right). Ideal for builders and property managers who need cabinets install-ready. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs on larger orders.
What is a false front drawer?
A decorative drawer face that looks like a real drawer but does not open or provide storage. Standard on all sink base cabinets — the sink bowl and plumbing occupy the space where a real drawer would go. It keeps the face frame consistent with the rest of the cabinet run.
Are there any shelves inside?
No. The interior is fully open to accommodate the sink bowl and plumbing. If you need storage below the sink, most plumbers can route pipes to one side, leaving space for a pull-out bin or small shelf on the other — but this comes from your plumber, not from the cabinet.
Can I choose which side the door hinges on?
Yes. Yes. RTA units are fully field-configurable during assembly. Factory assembled units are pre-built to your specified hinge direction (L or R) and cannot be changed afterward.
Is this cabinet suitable for a farmhouse or apron-front sink?
Apron-front sinks typically require a modified sink base without a front face frame to accommodate the apron. The DCSB36 is designed for standard drop-in or undermount sinks. Check your sink's installation requirements before ordering.
Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood. The face frame is solid wood. We do not use particle board — especially important in a sink cabinet that may be exposed to moisture over time.
Can I order a sample door?
Yes. Contact us and we'll arrange a sample so you can match your finish before committing to a full order.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes. Reach out through our contact page to discuss volume pricing and trade account options.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unassembled cabinets in original packaging. Damaged or defective items are handled on a priority basis — send us photos and we'll make it right. For returned unwanted items you will be responsible for return shipping and a 25% restocking fee.

Sink base cabinets are usually completed with a few finishing pieces. Most orders for this cabinet include:
- TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Installed over the structural toe kicks to cover seams and make the toe kick area one continuous surface across the cabinet run.
- BF3 (3") or BF6 (6") Base Fillers — close gaps between cabinets, or between cabinets and walls. Both can be trimmed in height and/or width on installation.
- TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.
Installing on an island or peninsula? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:
- SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. It can be trimmed on installation, depending on the needs of the remodel.
- OCS8 Outside Corner Molding — covers the raw corner where the back panel meets the cabinet box for a clean, finished island or peninsula end.
End of a run with an exposed side?
- DP2430 Decorative End Panel — a decorative "false door" panel for exposed cabinet sides at the end of a run. Dresses the exposed side to match the cabinet faces for an elevated, premium finish.
