🔀 What Is a Corner Drawer Base Cabinet?
A corner drawer base replaces the traditional corner door cabinet entirely with three full-extension drawers angled across the corner opening. Instead of reaching around a door to find what's at the back, every drawer pulls straight out — the full contents at eye level on a single pull.
- Top drawer — shallower, ideal for flat items and everyday utensils.
- Two bottom drawers — full-depth, angled to span the corner. Pots, pans, baking sheets — fully accessible on a single pull.

This cabinet requires a 3" base filler (BF3, sold separately) when installed next to an appliance — such as a range or dishwasher — so the drawers can open fully without the drawer fronts hitting the appliance. ℹ️ Note on Drawer Box Construction
The CDB36 drawer boxes are ¾" solid wood — but do not have dovetail joinery. This is standard across the industry for corner drawer bases: the angled geometry of the corner drawer construction means dovetail joints are not used. The drawer glides are undermount soft-close and the drawer heads match the shaker profile across the cabinet run.

Installation note: the CDB36 requires a 3" base filler next to an appliance so drawers open fully. The blind corner base requires a 3" filler and a minimum 4" pull from the corner wall.

All measurements are nominal. Allow ±⅛" tolerance. Confirm filler requirements and clearances with your installer before finalising the layout.
- Box: ½" solid plywood on all four sides — no particle board. Holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to moisture.
- Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF. Three drawer openings angled to span the corner.

Does this cabinet require a filler strip?

How is this different from a standard drawer base?
The drawers are angled diagonally to span the corner opening rather than running straight across a standard cabinet width. This allows the full corner space to be used as drawer storage instead of door-and-shelf storage.
Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood. The face frame is solid wood. We do not use particle board. The drawer boxes are ¾" solid wood without dovetail joinery.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unassembled cabinets in original packaging. Damaged or defective items are handled on a priority basis — send us photos and we'll make it right. For returned unwanted items you will be responsible for return shipping and a 25% restocking fee.

Most CDB36 orders include purchases of the following finishing pieces:
- BF3 (3") Base Filler — required when installing next to an appliance so the drawers open without obstruction. See the installation note above.
- TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Makes the toe kick area one continuous surface across the cabinet run.
- BF6 (6") Base Filler — for closing gaps between cabinets and walls elsewhere in the run.
- TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers nicks or scratches during assembly, installation, or normal wear over the cabinet's lifetime.
Installing on an island or peninsula? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:
- SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. Trimmable on installation.
