The BBC36 is a 36"-wide base blind corner cabinet in the Faircrest White Shaker line — a corner base cabinet built for the spot in an L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen run where a standard base cabinet can't reach. One side has a full-overlay shaker door and a soft-close dovetail drawer; the other side is open ("blind") and slides behind the adjacent cabinet into the corner, so the corner becomes usable storage instead of dead space. ½" solid plywood box, solid wood face frame, undermount soft-close glides — no particle board anywhere.

At $347 RTA — about 43% below the $608 MSRP — it's trade-quality corner storage at a price that keeps a kitchen remodel on budget. Also available factory assembled (Left Blind or Right Blind) for $386. Ships from our Ohio and Florida warehouses across the contiguous US.

🔀 What Is a Base Blind Corner Cabinet?

A blind corner base cabinet fits into the corner of a kitchen cabinet run. One side has the door and drawer facing out — the other side is "blind" (open, no door) and slides behind the adjacent cabinet run into the corner, maximising usable corner space without leaving a dead corner.

  • BBC36-L (Left Blind): The left side is blind. The door and drawer face right. The right-hand side is the exposed face.
  • BBC36-R (Right Blind): The right side is blind. The door and drawer face left. The left-hand side is the exposed face.
  • The RTA unit is field-configurable to either orientation during assembly.
  • Physical width: 36" — expandable on site up to 45" to suit your corner layout.
  • Face frame opening: 11⅞"W × 20⅜"H — useful for sourcing aftermarket pull-out accessories.
  • Center stile width: approximately 9" — the vertical divider between the blind side and the exposed door/drawer face.

⚠️ Important Installation Notes

This cabinet must be pulled a minimum of 4" from the corner wall — and potentially further — to allow adequate clearance for the door swing and drawer hardware. Failure to allow sufficient clearance will prevent the door and drawer from opening fully.

A 3" base filler (BF3, sold separately) must be installed perpendicular to this cabinet at the corner to cover the resulting gap. Browse fillers & accessories →

Watch the step-by-step assembly walkthrough for this RTA base cabinet. Note that for a blind corner cabinet, the door and drawer are assembled on one side only — the blind side remains open and slides into the corner.

The L or R designation refers to which side is blind — i.e. the side that slides unseen into the corner. The door and drawer are always on the opposite side.

Variant Blind Side Door & Drawer Face When to Use
BBC36L Left Right (exposed) Corner is to the left of the cabinet run
BBC36R Right Left (exposed) Corner is to the right of the cabinet run

RTA units can be configured to either L or R orientation during assembly — no need to decide at order time. Factory assembled units are pre-built in your specified orientation and cannot be changed after assembly.

If you're unsure which orientation you need, contact us with a rough sketch of your kitchen layout and we'll confirm before you order.

All measurements are nominal. Allow ±⅛" tolerance. Always confirm pull distance and filler requirements with your installer before finalising the cabinet layout.

  • Minimum 4" pull from the corner wall: The cabinet must be positioned at least 4" away from the corner wall to allow the door and drawer to open without obstruction. Your installer may need to pull further depending on the depth of the adjacent cabinet's face frame and any hardware handles installed.
  • BF3 filler required: A 3" base filler (BF3, sold separately) must be installed perpendicular to this cabinet at the corner to cover the gap created by pulling the cabinet away from the wall. Browse fillers & accessories →
  • Adjustable width: The cabinet's physical width is 36" and can be expanded on site up to 45" wide using the adjustable face frame to suit your exact corner dimension.
  • Door and drawer on one side only: Unlike a standard base cabinet, only the exposed face has a door and drawer. The blind side is open — it slides into the corner behind the adjacent cabinet run.
  • Confirm orientation before ordering assembled units: RTA units can be set to L or R in the field. Factory assembled units are built to spec — verify your corner orientation before placing the assembled order.

  • Box: ½" solid plywood on all four sides — no particle board. Holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to moisture.
  • Face Frame: Solid wood, not MDF. One exposed face with door and drawer; the blind side is open and frameless where it slides into the corner. The center stile — the vertical divider separating the blind side from the exposed face — is approximately 9" wide.
  • Door: Single full-overlay shaker door (HDF construction with solid wood shaker profile) on the exposed face only.
  • Drawer Box: ¾" solid wood with English dovetail joinery — the same construction found in cabinets costing 3× as much.
  • Drawer Glide: Undermount soft-close. Invisible when the drawer is closed; rated for thousands of open/close cycles.
  • Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinge, 6-way adjustable. Allows fine-tuning of door alignment after installation.
  • Shelf: ¾" adjustable half-depth shelf.
  • Interior: Color-matched box and shelves; natural finish on drawer interiors.
  • Door & drawer bumpers: Included.

RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value. Ships flat-packed, which reduces freight cost and damage risk. Importantly, the blind orientation (L or R) is field-configurable during assembly — no need to decide at order time. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days before they are ready to ship or collect — though most are ready within 3–8 business days, if not sooner.

Factory Assembled units arrive pre-built in your chosen orientation (Left Blind or Right Blind). Ideal if you want to skip assembly entirely. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs on larger orders.

Important: Confirm your corner orientation (L or R) before ordering a factory assembled unit — it cannot be changed after assembly.

Do I need a filler with this cabinet?
Yes. A 3" base filler (BF3, sold separately) must be installed perpendicular to this cabinet at the corner to cover the gap left by pulling the cabinet 4"+ away from the corner wall.

How far does the cabinet need to pull from the wall?
A minimum of 4". Your installer may need to pull further depending on the depth of your door and drawer hardware. Confirm the clearance required with your installer before finalising the layout.

Can I change the L/R orientation after I order?
RTA units are fully configurable in the field during assembly — no tools or modifications needed. Factory assembled units are built to the specified orientation and cannot be changed.

Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood. The face frame is solid wood. We do not use particle board. The door is HDF with a solid wood shaker profile — standard across the industry for painted shaker doors.

How long does assembly take?
Most base cabinets take 15–30 minutes. The blind corner cabinet is similar, though note that the door and drawer are only installed on one side.

Can I order a sample door?
Yes. Contact us and we'll arrange a sample so you can match your finish before committing to a full order.

Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes. Reach out through our contact page to discuss volume pricing and trade account options.

What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unassembled cabinets in original packaging. Damaged or defective items are handled on a priority basis — send us photos and we'll make it right. For returned unwanted items you will be responsible for return shipping and a 25% restocking fee.

Base cabinets are usually completed with a few finishing pieces. Most orders for this cabinet include:

  • TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Installed over the structural toe kicks to cover seams and make the toe kick area one continuous surface across the cabinet run.
  • BF3 (3") or BF6 (6") Base Fillers — close gaps between cabinets, or between cabinets and walls. Both can be trimmed in height and/or width on installation.
  • TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.

Installing on an island or peninsula? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:

  • SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. It can be trimmed on installation, depending on the needs of the remodel.
  • OCS8 Outside Corner Molding — covers the raw corner where the back panel meets the cabinet box for a clean, finished island or peninsula end.

End of a run with an exposed side?

  • DP2430 Decorative End Panel — a decorative "false door" panel for exposed cabinet sides at the end of a run. Dresses the exposed side to match the cabinet faces for an elevated, premium finish.
