The B42 is a 42"-wide double door & double drawer base cabinet built to the standard contractors and designers actually rely on — solid plywood box, soft-close everything, dovetail drawer joints. No particle board. No shortcuts. Available ready-to-assemble (RTA) or factory pre-built.

At $431 vs. the $755 MSRP, this is trade-quality construction at a price that makes your flip or remodel pencil out.

⭐ Specialty Size — Not Available at Big Box Stores. The B42 is a wider cabinet that Home Depot, Lowe's, and most standard RTA retailers simply don't stock. If your layout calls for a 42" run, this is where we earn our keep. Contact us if you need help confirming fitment for your project.

Note on door design: At 42" wide, this cabinet features a center stile running vertically down the face frame between the two doors. This is standard construction for wider cabinets and provides structural rigidity — the doors close against the center stile rather than meeting edge-to-edge (butt doors).

  • Box: ½" solid plywood on all four sides — no particle board. Plywood holds screws significantly better and won't swell or delaminate if exposed to moisture.
  • Face Frame: Solid wood with a center stile. At 42" wide, the center stile runs vertically between the two doors, providing structural rigidity across the wider span. Doors close against the stile rather than meeting butt-to-butt.
  • Drawer Box: ¾" solid wood with English dovetail joinery — the same construction found in cabinets costing 3× as much.
  • Drawer Glide: Undermount soft-close. Invisible when the drawer is closed; rated for thousands of open/close cycles.
  • Hinge: European-style soft-close concealed hinge, 6-way adjustable. Allows fine-tuning of door alignment after installation.
  • Shelf: ¾" adjustable half-depth shelf. Half-depth gives clear access to items in front while providing full support.
  • Interior: Color-matched box and shelves; natural finish on drawer interiors.
  • Door & drawer bumpers: Included.

RTA (Ready to Assemble) is the best value. Cabinets ship flat-packed, which reduces freight cost and damage risk. Assembly takes 15–30 minutes per cabinet with standard tools. If you're a contractor, flipper, or confident DIYer — RTA is the way to go. RTA orders are processed in up to 14 business days before they are ready to ship or collect — though most are ready within 3–8 business days, if not sooner.

Factory Assembled is ideal if you want to skip assembly entirely or you're buying for a client who needs turnkey delivery. Note that assembled cabinets are bulkier to ship, so freight can be higher. Factory assembled orders are processed in up to 21 business days — typically 10–15 business days on average. Shipping time varies depending on distance from our warehouses. Contact us — we can often reduce freight costs on larger orders.

Are these cabinets solid wood or particle board?
The box is ½" solid plywood. The face frame is solid wood. We do not use particle board. The doors are engineered HDF (high-density fiberboard) with a solid wood shaker profile — this is standard across the industry for painted shaker doors and provides excellent stability.

Why does this cabinet have a center stile?
At 42" wide, a center stile running vertically down the face frame between the doors is standard construction. It provides structural rigidity across the wider span and gives each door a solid surface to close against. This is a premium detail — not a limitation.

Do you carry specialty sizes not found at big box stores?
Yes — the B42, B42, and B48 are widths that Home Depot, Lowe's, and most standard RTA retailers simply don't carry. These specialty sizes are one of our core advantages for professionals designing custom kitchen layouts.

How long does it take to assemble an RTA cabinet?
Most base cabinets take 15–30 minutes with a drill and rubber mallet. Watch the assembly video above for a full walkthrough.

What tools do I need to assemble?
A drill (or screwdriver), rubber mallet, and clamps are all you need. No special tools required.

Can I order a sample door?
Yes. Contact us and we'll arrange a sample so you can match your finish before committing to a full order.

Do you offer trade pricing for contractors and flippers?
Yes. Reach out through our contact page to discuss volume pricing and trade account options.

What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unassembled cabinets in original packaging. Please contact us before returning any item. Damaged or defective items are handled on a priority basis — send us photos and we'll make it right. For returned unwanted items you will be responsible for return shipping back to the warehouse, as well as a 25% restocking fee.

Base cabinets are usually completed with a few finishing pieces. Most orders for this cabinet include:

  • TK8 Toe Kick — sold in 8′ strips. Installed over the structural toe kicks to cover seams and make the toe kick area one continuous surface across the cabinet run.
  • BF3 (3") or BF6 (6") Base Fillers — close gaps between cabinets, or between cabinets and walls. Both can be trimmed in height and/or width on installation.
  • TUK Touch-Up Kit — recommended with every cabinet order. Covers any nicks or scratches picked up during assembly or installation, and normal wear-and-tear over the cabinet's lifetime.

Installing on an island or peninsula? If the back of this cabinet will be exposed, finish it with:

  • SPW Skin Panel — a 36" × 96" panel that covers exposed cabinet backs. It can be trimmed on installation, depending on the needs of the remodel.
  • OCS8 Outside Corner Molding — covers the raw corner where the back panel meets the cabinet box for a clean, finished island or peninsula end.

End of a run with an exposed side?

  • DP2430 Decorative End Panel — a decorative "false door" panel for exposed cabinet sides at the end of a run. Dresses the exposed side to match the cabinet faces for an elevated, premium finish.
